/time emote
I'm in the Uk as are a load of other players and its always difficult working out how long we have until a festival is due to start. I'd like to suggest an emote something along the lines of /time which when typed would tell you the time in the pacific standard time zone so that we would know how long before the festival start.

I HOPE you don't mean an "emote". A "command" would be the proper word, right?
Yes, that would be nice. This has been brought up many times before.
Of course, in some respects, this would require ANet to actually be to a schedule with some things. *cough* *cough*

That's not an emote, that's an action or command.
/notsigned, instead they should just have the time until the next event pop up upon zoning into the event area.

Just do some research on the time zones, very easy to find. I live in EST so it's +3 hours after from the announced time, you it should be +8.

I definitely /sign this.
While a lot of suggestions have been made as to how best to fix the issue of timezones, I think this would work well. There have been better ideas and there are better ways to do it, but I think this would be a quick little fix that would work well.

I'd be easier to memorize the time difference between where you live and where ANet is.

I have a watch, and my computer has a clock. Windows even has a time zone menu in the system clock. Guild Wars doesn't need a clock. Is it that difficult to look at the time that GW needs to do it? Time zone charts are not hard to find.
The idea for a time remaining until next event popping up in chat is not bad.
Also, related threads down below shows three other threads in Sardelac named "time emote." Search, please.

"Server time" clock is always incredibly useful feature for lots of obvious reason. No point in making people compute stuff if computer can do it for them, that's what its there for.

I think this is a great idea. Then maybe every 2 seconds you won't see ''When is Mad King coming?" <- That question got annoying... especially 5 days away from Halloween. Come on people! its all over the most popular GW sites!!!
/Signed.
Sounds like an excellent idea.
Other suggestions for this would be.. if you type /time it tells you what time it is in pacific time.
OR
Have a countdown like someone said I think.. as soon as you enter Lion's Arch it says something like "34 hours 45 minutes until Mad King arrives" <-- that would be effective

Nah, it *needs* to be an emote. Huge fiery numbers prepresenting current time over your head with flying dragons and sharks with laser-beams and gnomes and... yeah.. sweet!
Anyways... easy to do, but why? Might as well add a time 'gadget' you can enable for interface.

It's been suggested countless time in Sardelac, not surprinsingly around festivals. But it's still an excellent idea and I guess wouldn't require too much of Linsey's time?

ALL of you are forgetting 1 thing....... We're talking about the people who play Guild Wars. I think you guys are giving them FAR too much credit to be smart enough to do any of those things.
its like I said in my previous post- it would certainly stop these conversations that happened during halloween 2 times every second:
Person1: When does Mad King come?
Person2: Check wiki
Person1: I dont want to do that
Person3: When do you THINK mad king comes?
Person4: Halloween -.-
Person1: oh. kthnx
I know I see that ALOT the entire halloween event. As well as I saw "Is Mad King here yet?" and "When does he come next?" and..... my faveorite.. Nov. 1 "When is mad king coming again?"
Soooooooooo I guess my vote is more for a clock that says "X hours X minutes until Mad King arrives next" When you enter Lion's Arch or Kamadan

first of all no they are NOT the same thing.
Command is something like /deaths /age ect.
Emotes /laugh /rank /point ect
the commands just present information to you basically or allow you to report
while the emotes make you perform some action.

Actually the OPs idea is better. I am in the pst zone and I dont need something popping up at me everytime I go to town.
with /time only the people who wanted to use it would have to.

Or you can just use convert Pacific time to your time, like the rest of the guild wars population does - and not have to worry about Anet implementing this.

Who cares what the exact difference is. I think its pretty obvious what was ment.
Personally, I'd prefer one little message box when I enter a main town that I can easily just exit than 100 districts all filled with people all asking the exact same question.
Best solution yet: Turn off all chat and just do some serious mathematics like +3 or maybe even, God forbid, +8.
